Job summary

Bishop O’Dowd High School is seeking a compassionate Temporary Associate Therapist (AMFT, APCC) to provide school-based wellness therapy for students in a Catholic school setting. The role includes individual and small-group counseling, crisis support, and collaboration with the wellness team and families, under supervision of a licensed clinician.

Hours are part-time, approximately 10 hours per week, at an hourly rate of $31.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT or APCC).
• Experience with K-12 students in school, clinic, or community mental health.
• Knowledge of child/adolescent development, SEL, and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to work in a Catholic educational environment.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Responsibilities

• Provide school-based wellness counseling to students.
• Conduct assessments and referrals for students needing mental health support.
• Offer crisis intervention and risk assessment with the wellness team.
• Maintain confidential records per law and school policy.
• Collaborate with supervisor, wellness team, and counselors to support student well-being.
• Assist in small-group counseling on themes like Self-Care and Anxiety.
