Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a School Aide in Melville, NY. This contract-part-time role involves working with students needing instructional and behavioral support under the supervision of the special education department and teacher.

The position requires a high school diploma, CPR if applicable, health clearance and compliance with applicable standards. The role includes 30 hours per week at $22 per hour and opportunities for benefits where eligible.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• The School Aide works with students requiring instructional and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee.
• May provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
• Collaborates with teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans and behavior plans.
