Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a part-time School-Age Childcare Assistant Site Director at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School in Newton, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year.

The role supports morning and/or afternoon programs, aligned with the school calendar, 7:00–8:15 am and 3:00–6:00 pm slots. Responsibilities include assisting the Site Director, coordinating staff, ensuring safety and licensing compliance, and communicating with families to foster a nurturing, organized environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years experience with children in school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
• Some lead/supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required.
• Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Director in overseeing before- and after-school programs.
• Support staff scheduling and daily classroom operations.
• Ensure safety, engagement, and adherence to licensing requirements.
• Communicate with families to build positive relationships and trust.
