Job summary

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, VA seeks a part-time Supervising Carpenter for Theater to support school productions and maintain a safe, creative space. You will work closely with students, oversee scene shop construction, and guide training for theatrical builds.

The ideal candidate has an MFA/BFA in Technical Theater or equivalent, strong construction management skills, and experience collaborating on production teams, with occasional after-school and Saturday commitments.

Qualifications

• MFA/BFA in Technical Theater or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred.
• Knowledge in organizing and managing construction projects and schedules.
• Experience working with students in a theater setting and on teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction requirements for school productions in the theater department.
• Provide training and supervision of students and all scene shop implements.
• Work afterschool and on some Saturdays as part of productions schedule.
• Serve as a liaison to IT staff, training them and alerting modifications to the space.
