Job summary

Quality Harvest Foods in Portland, OR is seeking a Part-time Sanitation Technician to join our team. The role covers cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facilities, following SSOPs, and maintaining sanitation records. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour with weekends required and opportunities for a monthly bonus.

The position requires English communication, safety awareness, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Forklift/scissor lift certifications are preferred or obtainable after hire.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must communicate in English; bilingual is a plus.
• Experience in sanitation in a food facility is preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends.
• Must safely handle caustic chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks for equipment and facilities.
• Operate pressure washers and floor scrubbers to sanitize areas.
• Dismantle equipment as needed for thorough cleaning.
• Follow SSOPs and safety protocols including Lock Out/Tag Out.
• Maintain sanitation records in a timely manner.

What You’ll Do:

• Execute daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, washing, wiping down, and vacuuming equipment and facilities.
• Operate tools like pressure washers, floor scrubbers, and more to keep our plant spotless.
• Dismantle equipment as needed to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitization.
• Follow all Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely sanitation records.

What We’re Looking For:

• Ability to safely handle caustic and sanitary chemicals.
• Forklift and scissor lift certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Strong team collaboration skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in damp, hot, or confined spaces.
• A focus on attendance and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Availability for weekends and end-of-week assignments

• Candidates must be able to comprehend and communicate effectively in English. Being bilingual in both languages is a plus
