Summary
The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Sales Generation and Guest Service
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service.
- Answer questions regarding the store and merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs.
- Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with the team.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
- Consistently perform personal sales and look for opportunities to impact team presentation.
- Achieve personal sales goals and contribute to store sales.
- Provide service throughout the store, including fitting rooms and checkout.
- Assist Guests with fitting, checkout, and merchandise preparation for alterations.
- Understand exchange and return procedures and turn them into sales opportunities.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to meet goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business areas, including loyalty programs.
- Place special orders and contact other stores for desired merchandise.
- Build and maintain good Guest relationships and develop a client base.
- Maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service standards.
- Perform leadership actions and uphold high standards, regardless of manager presence.
Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
- Recognize recruiting opportunities through various channels.
- Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
- Create a positive and professional store environment.
Visual Merchandise Management
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and turnover.
- Stay current on product range and feedback.
- Ensure the sales floor is properly sized and stocked with new freight.
Operations
- Work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Operate cash registers, handle money, and balance cash drawers.
- Recognize security risks and prevent theft.
- Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines.
- Perform merchandising tasks and maintain a clean, organized store.
- Communicate concerns and policy violations appropriately.
- Understand and apply Buckle’s policies, procedures, and code of ethics.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience
No prior experience or training required.
Physical Demands
Requires standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 30 lbs. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
Work Environment
Works primarily in a retail store with moderate noise levels.
