The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Sales Generation and Guest Service
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service to each Guest.
- Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
- Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with the team.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
- Consistently perform personal sales and look for opportunities to impact team presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
- Achieve personal sales goals set by Store Management.
- Provide legendary service throughout the store in the Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
- Assist Guests with trying on or fitting merchandise.
- Handle checkout, bag purchases, and prepare merchandise for alterations.
- Understand exchange and return procedures and turn them into showmanship opportunities.
- Use the SPG daily to accomplish sales goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs.
- Place Special Orders or contact other stores to find desired merchandise.
- Build and maintain good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
- Maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations.
- Perform leadership actions and maintain high standards whether or not a manager is present.
Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
- Recognize recruiting opportunities via Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommend.
- Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
- Maintain a professional attitude to foster a positive store culture.
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimal merchandise turnover.
- Stay current on product range and provide feedback on product improvements and new ideas.
- Ensure the sales floor is well-sized and freight is appropriately displayed.
Operations
- Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts as needed.
- Open and close cash registers, handle money, perform balancing, and make deposits.
- Recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to handle these situations.
- Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines, including bag checks.
- Maintain knowledge of POS procedures and policies regarding payments, exchanges, and Loss Prevention.
- Handle freight, re-merchandise, prepare displays, and perform markdowns and transfers.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and shoppable.
- Provide feedback on merchandise handling concerns.
- Report policy violations and concerns to management or HR confidentially and promptly.
- Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
- Contribute to a positive team environment while performing job duties with high customer service standards.
- Perform any other duties or special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
No prior experience or training required.
Physical Demands
Requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and talking/hearing regularly. Occasionally sitting. Ability to lift/maneuver 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
