Job summary

Toy Joy in Austin is seeking a friendly retail associate to welcome shoppers, answer product questions, and keep the store inviting and well-stocked. You will contribute to a fun, customer-focused experience in a unique toy destination.

We offer a flexible 24–28 hour weekly schedule across 3–4 days with shifts between 10 am and 11 pm. Prior sales experience and a love for toys, books, games, and collectibles are a plus.

Qualifications

• Sales experience in retail or food service is required.
• Love and knowledge of toys, books, games, collectibles and candy.
• Cheery and positive disposition with good communication.
• Able to lift and maneuver fixtures and stand for long periods.
• Flexible availability; 24–28 hours per week, 3–4 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and greet shoppers.
• Maintain a presentable, stocked store and restock merchandise.
• Check in and merchandise product as assigned.
• Maintain safety standards and health codes; keep walkways clear.

Pay starts at $14/hour, advancement opportunities are available with tenure.

Daily Duties include:

• Provide excellent customer service to all that walk in, greeting each person individually to make them feel welcome.
• Maintain a presentable and clean store. Continuously restock merchandise and clean when appropriate.
• Check in and merchandise product as assigned by supervisor on duty.
• Maintain safety standards and health codes and keep walkways clear.
• Have fun and be joyful!

Requirements

• Sales experience in a retail or food service environment.
• Love and knowledge of toys, books, games, collectibles and candy.
• Artistic skills, merchandising and creativity a plus!
• Possess a cheery and positive disposition.
• Work and communicate well with all staff.
• Uphold respect for yourself, fellow co-workers and customers.
• Be able to lift and maneuver fixtures and product as necessary.
• Spend Majority of 8 Hr shift on your feet
• Must be able to work 24-28 Hrs/Wk, 3-4 days/Wk. Scheduled hours may change weekly but will be a mix of opening/closing shifts between the hours of 10 am and 11 pm. - flexible availability is a must.
