Job description

Our client, a leading construction safety company, is looking for experienced Safety Coordinators to join their team as long-term contractors. The position requires travel throughout Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, and the pay rate is $45-55/hour, depending on experience.

Safety Coordinator Responsibilities:

1. Report to the Safety Manager for daily work activities.
2. Perform safety checks.
3. Document any safety findings and corrective actions taken.
4. Complete Daily Safety Reports.
5. Document any near misses or incidents.
6. Communicate with all designated Competent Persons before, during, and after completion of their work shifts.

Safety Coordinator Qualifications:

1. NYCT Track Safety trained;
2. A minimum of ninety (90) days prior ROW experience including flagging and diversions of service;
3. Successful completion of the 40-hour NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course;
4. Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course;
5. Active member of American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP);
6. Minimum two (2) years of safety or safety-related experience;
7. Familiarity with the type of work being performed;
8. Competent to instruct on-site personnel;
9. Able to read, write, and speak English fluently;
10. Possess and maintain a current New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspectors License;
11. Possess and maintain a current C-3/C-5 Supervisor / Competent Person Training for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate.

Shift/Job Type: Part-Time Weekends and On Call work, Long-Term contract, with potential for full-time down the line.

Pay: $45-$55/hr., No benefits.
