Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a dedicated housekeeper for Residence Inn Birmingham Downtown at UAB to maintain clean guest rooms and public areas. You will perform thorough cleaning, restock linens and amenities, and ensure a welcoming environment for guests in a fast-paced hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to scrub and scour surfaces and perform cleaning tasks in confined spaces.
• Must be willing to pitch in and help co-workers as a team.
• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of cleaning equipment.
• Ability to push/pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Adapt communication style for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters and floors.
• Adhere to cleaning procedures and use of cleaning agents.
• Strip and change bed linens, lifting weights up to 50 lbs.
• Dust furniture, pictures, shelves and surfaces.
• Vacuum rooms and empty trash.
• Restock amenities and supplies in guest rooms.
• Handle room keys and restock heavy carts.
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness and sign completion.
• Maintain attendance and reliability; work regular shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending, and stooping.
• Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
• Strip beds and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
• Push and pull vacuum throughout the entire room and empty trash.
• Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room.
• Sign for room keys, retrieve, push to assigned rooms and restock heavy cart.
• Visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion for room.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
