Job summary

Live Well Homecare is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for triage in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN). The role involves telephone triage, patient education, and coordinating care for a diverse patient population.

The RN will review voicemails, advise on care needs, and route high-risk cases to the emergency department while arranging physician appointments when appropriate. Illinois license and BLS required; part-time schedule available.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license and BLS certification.
• BSN preferred and at least 1 year of telephone triage experience.
• Strong communication, assessment, and clinical skills relevant to triage and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing patient voicemails and communicating with patients via phone or MyChart to assess care needs.
• Providing appropriate medical advice or directing patients to emergency or urgent care as needed.
• Conducting telephone assessments, intervening based on nursing skills, and ensuring patient understanding using teach-back methods.
• Sending high-risk cases to emergency department promptly and scheduling physician appointments for others.
• Assisting patients in examination rooms, recording vital signs, and preparing them for exams or procedures.
• Performing immunizations and assisting with diagnostic and in-office procedures such as venipuncture, specimen collection, and lab tests.
