Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Poison Information Specialist to manage incoming emergency calls from the State of Wisconsin and health care providers. You will assess, disposition, and educate on human toxic exposures using medically approved guidelines in our computer systems.

The role emphasizes critical thinking away from the bedside, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus (paid after 120 days), a hybrid work setting after orientation, and a schedule including early and late shifts,

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Associate or Bachelor’s) or Pharmacist with WI license.
• Three years of clinical experience in acute, ambulatory care or pediatric settings preferred.
• Experience in a Poison Center (AAPCC) preferred).

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming emergency calls from Wisconsin public and health care providers.
• Provide assessment, disposition, and education on toxic exposures using approved guidelines.
• Utilize computer software systems to guide decisions and education of callers.
