Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO is seeking a part-time RN for the Mother/Baby unit. The nurse will care for mothers and newborns from delivery to discharge, emphasizing mother–baby bonding, patient teaching, and the nursing process to continuously improve outcomes.

The role requires BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation within 6 months of start, and RN licensure with a diploma or ADN. Collaborative practice and patient-centered care are essential in this position.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support is required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• RN – Registered Nurse credential.
• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree.

Responsibilities

• Care for the mother and baby from delivery through dismissal, using ongoing assessments and the nursing process.
• Teach patients and families, promote maternal/newborn bonding, and apply critical thinking in care planning.
• Collaborate with the care team to implement and evaluate the plan of care.
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care in a Mother/Baby unit.
