Job summary

May Institute in Norwood, MA is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Medication Trainer, leading staff training and competency assessments.

You will partner with a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with brain injuries and neurobehavioral disorders, delivering medication training sessions and ensuring regulatory compliance. Evening/weekend and as-needed daytime hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS and PALS certification strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with ABA principles and techniques is desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead medication administration trainings for staff, including initial certification, competency assessments, and refresher sessions.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, program managers, and staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Conduct medication administration observations and audits to ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies.
• Provide family education to empower caregivers in preventive and responsive care.
• Maintain documentation of training, competency evaluations, and audit findings.
• Promote safety with proper medication handling and infection control practices.
• Coach and support staff through hands-on training to build confidence in medication administration.
• Assist in developing and refining treatment plans in collaboration with the team.
