Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse in Edison, NJ. The role focuses on direct patient care, data collection, and coordinating care within an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes.

You will perform age- and disease-specific assessments, develop care plans, communicate with patients and families, and administer medications with barcode scanning and documentation tools. A NJ RN license and BLS/CPR are required within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma in Nursing required.
• BSN in progress or willing to pursue within three years of hire.
• Six months of nursing experience or participation in Nurse Residency Program.
• Current RN license in New Jersey.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data on the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize changes in clinical and diagnostic status.
• Identify education needs for patient/family based on age and disease.
• Develop and implement a plan of care with prescribed strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient, family and healthcare team.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation systems.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Identify and address ethical issues in the practice setting.
