Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse for the Special Care Nursery Level 2 in Edison, NJ. The role focuses on direct patient care and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.

You will collect data, perform assessments, recognize status changes, educate patients and families, develop and implement a care plan, and administer medications with bar-scanning technology. Prior nursing experience and NJ RN license required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing or diploma required.
• BSN in progress or willing to pursue within 3 years of hire.
• Six months of nursing experience or participation in Nurse Residency Program.
• Current RN license in New Jersey.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data on patient health and situation.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately.
• Identify education needs based on age and disease for patient and family.
• Develop and implement plan of care with strategies and interventions.
• Coordinate and communicate the plan of care with the healthcare team.
• Provide ongoing updates to patient and family and care team.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Address ethical issues in practice setting.
