Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant (32 hours bi-weekly) with IBCLC and NRP certifications to educate, support and counsel expectant and new parents on breastfeeding, including phone consultations.

Responsibilities include independent patient care using the nursing process, leadership and teaching duties, and adherence to hospital policies; weekend and holiday coverage may be required. The role emphasizes quality improvement and collaboration with the health care team.

Qualifications

• IBCLC certification is required.
• NRP certification is required.
• Experience in lactation education and counseling is preferred.
• Ability to provide phone consultations for breastfeeding concerns.
