Overview

Summary: Responsible for the provision of breast-feeding education, counseling and care, telephone and outpatient consultation. To support the mother who provides breast-feeding as infant nutritional support. Works closely with the health care team to provide multi-disciplinary services to lactating mothers and their families. Provides education toward planning, implementing and evaluating lactation needs of new parents and their families.

Education / Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college preferred. Two years of current lactation education required.

License / Certification

IBCLC certification required, BLS required, NRP required
