Job summary

Blue Ridge Vista Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Day Shift Psychiatric RN to join our inpatient behavioral health team. This role emphasizes compassionate care, safety, and collaboration with patients and families to support healing.

You will conduct nursing assessments, administer medications and treatments, and develop individualized care plans with the inter disciplinary team while helping patients feel heard, supported, and informed throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications

• 2+ years psychiatric/behavioral health leadership experience (charge/assistant manager acceptable).
• Ability to work independently on day shift.
• New graduate RNs welcome and able to document accurately.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments with monitoring.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans with the team.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment through observation and education.
• Coordinate nursing care and support to care team.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other staff.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.

Administer medications and treatments while monitoring effectiveness and patient response.

Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.

Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment through observation, engagement, and patient education.
