Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Children’s Ambulatory Gulf Coast unit seeks an RN I-PRN-Ambulatory to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients. You will coordinate operations, scheduling, records, and admissions while counseling patients and families.

The role requires a valid RN license and strong communication, teamwork, and clinical procedures knowledge in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of clinical nursing care procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments.
• Educate patients and families on condition, diet, meds, and schedules.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Coordinate referrals to services inside or outside the unit.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Serve as a preceptor per UMMC guidelines.
• Report patient issues to supervisor as appropriate.
• Participate in nursing councils or committees to improve care.
