Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, is seeking an RN-Ambulatory-PRN for the Sanderson unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, coordinate scheduling, maintain patient records and admissions processes.

The role requires an active RN license, strong communication, teamwork, and proficiency with clinical procedures and hospital computer systems. This is a part-time, on-site ambulatory nursing position.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and interventions for patients.
• Educates patients (and possibly family members) on topics such as the nature and status of patient’s condition, diet and medication-related information.
• Ensures the safety of patients.
• Coordinates referrals to other services within and outside of immediate area or unit.
• Maintains accurate patient records.
• Functions as a preceptor in accordance with UMMC guidelines.
• Reports patient issues or concerns to supervisor as appropriate.
• Serves on nursing council or related committees to improve patient care.
