Job summary

The New York Islanders are seeking a Part-Time Retail Supervisor to lead team members on the UBS Arena team stores during home games and events. You will balance hands-on selling with overseeing daily store operations, inventory accuracy, and a high-quality guest experience.

The role requires 1–2 years in retail, strong communication and organizational skills, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework a plus.
• 1–2 years of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior experience leading, training, or mentoring others preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-changing environment.
• Comfortable making decisions independently and resolving issues on the sales floor.
• Experience with Retail POS and inventory management systems a plus.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and events; must be available for 80% of scheduled events monthly.
• Previous experience in retail at a sports or entertainment venue is a plus.
• Ability to walk, stand and sit for long periods; able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support Retail Brand Ambassadors on the sales floor during shifts, providing guidance and coaching.
• Open and close retail store locations, including handling deposits, store keys, and POS reconciliation.
• Monitor the sales floor and cash wrap to ensure a premier guest experience and organized store presentation.
• Promote the brand and products in a positive, enthusiastic manner.
• Assist in training and onboarding new Retail Brand Ambassadors.
• Receive shipments and verify contents.
• Assist in inventory cycle counts and overall stock accuracy.
• Maintain accurate merchandise inventory and flag low-stock items to the manager.
• Support the manager with staff scheduling and shift coverage.
• Fulfill interdepartmental orders and transfers as needed.
• Act as manager-on-duty in the absence of the Assistant Manager.
