Job summary

ScanScape is seeking a part-time Retail Scan Associate to visit local retailers in Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas. You will use a mobile app to scan barcodes, collect data, and help analyze product performance across stores.

The role offers flexible hours, potential for additional project work, and opportunities for earnings through travel pay and a 401(k) with employer matching. Prioritize accuracy, timeliness, and reliability in a distributed, independent work setting.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver's license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to endure being on your feet for long periods, while accessing products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi‑Fi.
• Must be tech savvy.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan product barcodes.
• Provide quantity for about 45% of products scanned.
• Collect data used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer (store).
• Use a downloadable app on your mobile phone to scan barcodes throughout the store.
• Complete in-store data collections at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks.
• Complete Display Scanning on the entire store, weekly, which can take several hours.
• Participate in Custom Projects that add 30 minutes to 2 hours per week per store.
• Adhere to weekly deadlines and maintain dependability and quality.
• Enjoy flexibility in hours and paid travel at your hourly rate (minus first/last 15 minutes).
• Eligible for 401(k) with employer matching contributions; participate in a referral program.
