Job summary

ScanScape is seeking a part-time Retail Scan Associate in Fredericksburg, VA to visit stores weekly, scan barcodes, and gather data for retailers. The role emphasizes independence, physical activity, and flexible hours across multiple store types, including grocery and drug stores.

You'll use a mobile app to scan items, occasionally contribute additional hours for special projects, and interact with major national chains. Compensation includes paid travel and 401(k) eligibility.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to endure being on your feet for long periods, while accessing products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be deadline-driven self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Must be tech savvy.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Visit designated stores weekly to scan barcodes on displays and in aisle locations.
• Use a mobile app to scan barcodes across store locations.
• Provide quantity data for about 45% of scanned products.
• Complete display scanning across the store weekly.
• Take on additional hours for special projects when requested.
• Work with major brand retailers and local chains.
• Maintain flexibility in hours and travel to stores.
