GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEYS INC is seeking a part-time cashier for our Charlottesville, VA store. Base pay is $17.00 per hour.

You will handle customer service, operate the POS, assist with merchandise displays, and help maintain a secure, clean front area while supporting promotions and round-up donations. Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing transactions accurately, and aiding in training new cashiers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.
• Ability to work within a team situation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in person or by phone in a prompt, friendly manner to deliver 100% customer delight.
• Operate the cash register/POS to ensure accurate pricing and sale data.
• Ensure proper cash handling and processing of promotions and discounts.
• Support the Round Up program to fund the mission in the community.
• Keep front of store clean; stock shelves and rotate merchandise.
• Assist in training new cashiers and participate in in-service training.
