Job summary

Family Dollar seeks a Customer Service Associate to join our Wilkes-Barre, PA store. You will assist customers, handle transactions, stock shelves, and maintain a clean, safe environment with friendly, professional interactions.

Typical duties include receiving merchandise, unloading trucks, and supporting daily store operations. Part-time position with opportunities for growth and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks; stock replenishment per standards.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness: bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat areas.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.
