Job summary

Family Dollar in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to provide a great shopping experience. You will assist customers with questions, handle transactions at the register, stock shelves, unload trucks, and keep the store clean and organized.

The role requires good communication, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs. We value teamwork, safety, and friendly interactions with customers and fellow associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
