Job summary

Family Dollar in Lakewood, OH, is seeking a Part time Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle sales at the register, and help keep the store stocked and clean.

Key duties include cash handling, stock replenishment, unloading trucks, and maintaining a safe, friendly store environment. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred, with strong communication and problem-solving skills valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operating documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Process sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep store stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates and leaders.
• Clean and restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, keep areas neat and presentable.
