Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of New York LLC in Newark Valley, NY is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide friendly, efficient service and manage transactions at the register. You will keep the store stocked, assist customers, and maintain clean, safe premises while supporting teammates.

This part-time role offers opportunities to develop customer-relations skills and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment. Previous retail experience is preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking and standing.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
