Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store Grand Rapids is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to provide friendly customer service, handle donations, and keep the store organized and welcoming for customers and donors.

You will operate the POS system, manage cash, stock merchandise, and assist with all store activities. Training is provided and a flexible schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing
• Ability to provide friendly customer service
• Reliability in attendance and punctuality
• Basic communication and teamwork skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service on sales floor
• Process donations and receipts
• Operate point-of-sale system and cash drawer
• Stock, price, tag and display donated merchandise
• Assist with receiving and moving donations
• Maintain clean, organized store and work areas
• Follow Salvation Army policies
