Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring a part-time Retail Associate. You will deliver friendly customer service, process donations, operate the cash register, and keep the store organized and welcoming for customers and donors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing.
• Ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and holidays.
• Experience with a POS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service on the sales floor and donation areas.
• Operate the POS system, process sales, manage cash drawer, and follow cash handling policies.
• Maintain store organization, restock, and prepare donated merchandise for sale.
• Assist with donations, provide receipts, and communicate what items cannot be accepted.
• Support opening/closing procedures and other assigned duties.
