New York Families for Autistic Children is seeking a Respite Worker to provide person-centered supports in home and community settings. The role emphasizes safety, supervision, and enabling the primary caregiver time away.

Responsibilities include direct care, skill-building activities, and promoting community inclusion. The worker will conform to HIPAA, ethics, and agency policies while maintaining strong communication with families and team members.

• Ability to instruct others on vocational or daily living skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to persons served in their home and community.
• Perform lifting and other one-to-one functions for individuals.
• Provide direct care to support skill-building.
• Monitor safety and welfare and notify supervisor of concerns.
• Help individuals build positive community relationships.
• Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals served.
