Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire (UCPIE) is seeking a Part Time Respite Worker to provide in-home, intermittent care to a mutual client in Palm Desert, CA. You will support family stability by assisting with daily living tasks, safety, and documentation, while following program policies.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years of experience with developmental disabilities, strong communication, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or caring for a family member with a disability.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; computer proficiency expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsible care to restore or maintain family stability for developmentally disabled members.
• Work a minimum of two hours at each respite appointment.
• Follow instructions for care of clients/consumers and siblings as outlined by parents/guardians.
• Assist clients in feeding, dressing, toileting, grooming, light meal preparation as needed.
• Maintain safety precautions at all times and report suspected incidents of abuse to the Respite Program Manager.
