Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire (UCPIE) is seeking a part-time Respite Worker to provide intermittent, regular scheduled, temporary care for a mutual client in Riverside and Palm Desert areas. Responsibilities include direct client care, safety, documentation, and coordination with families and center staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of related experience, strong communication skills, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (or caring for a family member).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Computer proficient.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsible care so that family stability may be restored or maintained in families with developmentally disabled members.
• Work a minimum of two hours at each respite appointment.
• Follow instructions for the care of clients/consumers and siblings as outlined by parent(s)/guardian(s).
• Assist client/consumer(s) in feeding, dressing, toileting, grooming, light meal preparation, etc., as needed.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certification and keep copies on file.
