Job summary

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Danbury, CT is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist to join our compassionate healthcare team on weekends and evenings (approx. 15 hours per week).

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach to support interdisciplinary care. You will assess and implement respiratory care plans, administer treatments, monitor patients, and educate families.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: high school diploma or equivalent; RT program certificate.
• License in New York State Respiratory Therapist (or RT Technician) per job.
• Experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions.
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management.
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards; ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols.
