Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate Degree from an accredited school.
• Graduate of a respiratory care program.
• Bachelor of Science degree in health care field preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in an acute and/or subacute unit preferred.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner verification license for the state of practice.
• Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct patient care.
• Follow supervisor schedules and established policies and procedures.
• Assess patient condition; collect, analyze, and document data related to respiratory care.
• Plan and implement care outcomes; perform interventions per plan and hospital policy.
• Maintain infection control procedures and safety standards.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care team and physicians as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with privacy regulations.
