Job summary

Alpha Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care across diverse patient populations in Illinois. You will work part-time, delivering therapies, documenting treatments, and collaborating with physicians and families to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, RRT or registry-eligible status, and state licensure within six months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• RRT certification or registry-eligible status.
• Illinois license within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures and deliver treatments to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment methods and monitor physiological responses, especially in vulnerable populations.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities, transcribe physician orders, and communicate clearly with patients and families.
• Provide education to patients and staff to ensure understanding of treatments and procedures.
