Job summary

SUNY Sullivan invites applications for a part-time Respiratory Care Clinical Adjunct in the Respiratory Care Program. Instructors will supervise and guide students in real-time clinical settings, teaching medications, procedures, and problem-solving in patient care.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, assigning patient procedures, observing student performance, and reporting outcomes using SBAR format; your role models professionalism and supports student success.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy; bachelor's preferred.
• Be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Maintain an unencumbered NY license and current BLS certification; AARC membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Clinical Education.
• Instruct students on policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with Respiratory Staff or RT Supervisor to assign patient care units for students.
• Assign procedures and therapies and observe proper application by students.
• Guide daily student evaluations and SBAR-based reporting to site staff.
• Discuss instructional issues and student progress with program leadership.
• Serve as a professional role model and representative of the Respiratory Care Program.
