Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University College of Nursing seeks an hourly/part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach and supervise students in multiple clinical specialty areas. The role involves orienting students to units, policies, and documentation systems, and guiding clinical objectives and student presentations.

The successful candidate will conduct pre/post conferences, evaluate performance, and communicate with the Clinical Coordinator and Program Directors.

Qualifications

• New York State Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner License.
• Master's Degree.
• 2 to 4 years of continuous clinical nursing experience in area of specialization.

Responsibilities

• Teach and/or supervise students in clinical specialty areas (Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Mental/Behavioral Health, and Community Health Nursing).
• Orient students to the patient care unit, hospital policies, procedures, and documentation systems.
• Conduct clinical pre and post conferences; assign students to patients and presentations.
