Job summary

The Lee Laboratory at Indiana University School of Optometry seeks a part-time research technician to support neural circuit plasticity research in retinal degeneration restoration. Responsibilities include mouse colony management, tissue preparation and staining, assisting with experiments, and maintaining records and equipment.

Education required is a Bachelor’s degree in biology, neuroscience, or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, neuroscience, or related field required.
• Experience handling mice or mouse colony management preferred.
• Experience in molecular or cellular biology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with ex-vivo and in-vitro research using mouse models.
• Maintain mouse colonies and assist with animal handling and tissue collection.
• Process biological samples including tissue collection, sectioning, and staining.
• Prepare reagents and assist with laboratory experiments.
• Plan animal experiments and report results.
• Maintain accurate mouse colony records and documentation.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and inventory.
• Follow approved animal-care and laboratory safety procedures.
• Collaborate with PI and lab team on ongoing projects.
