Job summary

University of Missouri-Columbia's Department of Neurology is seeking a Research Project Specialist to coordinate research-related administrative and operational activities.

You will assist with project planning and execution, monitor workflows, gather and analyze information, and support external collaborators as needed.

This 20-hour-per-week position runs Monday–Friday between 8am–5pm, with an hourly salary range of $17.40 to $24.00.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 1 year of related experience.

Position Summary

Supports a faculty member by coordinating research-related administrative and operational activities, assisting with project planning and execution, monitoring workflows, gathering and analyzing information, and serving as a resource for customers, and external collaborators. Applies established procedures and provides solutions to routine and moderately complex issues to support research objectives and departmental goals.

  • Uses established procedures, guidelines, and precedents to resolve routine operational, research, and administrative issues.
  • Understands how own and related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve objectives
  • Researches information, collects data, and prepares analyses/reports as directed
  • Provides solutions to problems based on practice and existing precedents or procedures
  • Impacts the team's results through the quality and effectiveness of own work
  • Explains information to and within the team, noting improvements, efficiencies etc. to manager/supervisor and/or appropriate team member
  • Maintains a broad understanding of faculty research operations and related administrative processes.
Shift

20 hours, M-F, between the hours of 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.40 - $24.00 hourly

Grade: GGS - 007
