JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Management and Organization Department in the Smeal College of Business is seeking to hire a research assistant (RA) to assist faculty on various research projects.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Qualitative analysis of the espoused core values of the hotel company, Marriott International, across source materials including biographies, historical archival documents, newspaper articles, blogs, and social media posts.
  2. Thematic coding and discourse analysis of the source materials.

Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree in a related topic area completed or in progress.
  2. Ability to read a large corpus of text and identify themes.
  3. Prior experience with qualitative data analysis, discourse analysis, historical analysis, semantic analysis, etc. is preferred.
