Job summary

Precise Systems is seeking a Part-Time Remote Technical Writer – Integrated Logistics Support for the Crane, IN team. The role develops and maintains clear, configuration-controlled logistics documentation for system acquisition, fielding, maintenance, and lifecycle sustainment.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, logisticians, maintainers, trainers, and configuration-management personnel to produce usable content for operators and stakeholders, with travel and on-site

Qualifications

• Three years of technical writing or ILS documentation experience.
• Experience creating manuals, maintenance procedures, and SOPs.
• Ability to convert complex data into clear, usable docs.
• Experience coordinating technical reviews and revisions.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and information organization skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update Integrated Logistics Support plans, lifecycle-support documents, maintenance plans, supportability reports, and fielding documentation.
• Prepare and revise technical manuals, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, SOPs, test documentation, and Technical Data Packages.
• Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, Logistics Product Data, test results, and maintenance data to support accurate content.
• Convert complex engineering and logistics information into clear instructions for operators, maintainers, and trainers.
• Ensure documentation remains aligned with approved system configurations and customer requirements.
• Coordinate validation and verification reviews with engineers and subject matter experts.
• Track document revisions, reviews, approvals, due dates, releases, and configuration-control status.
