Job summary

Lane College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Professor of Religion to teach undergraduate religion courses on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will create an engaging, inclusive learning environment and support student development.

The role includes teaching 3–9 credit hours per semester, contributing to departmental activities, and providing academic guidance to students, while adhering to college policies and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Religion, Religious Studies, Theology, Divinity, Biblical Studies, or closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Religion or related field.
• Previous experience teaching religion or religious studies courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach three to nine credit hours per semester, as assigned.
• Develop and deliver course content per approved descriptions and outcomes.
• Prepare syllabi, materials, assignments, exams, and learning activities.
• Maintain attendance, grading, and student performance records.
• Submit grades and reports by deadlines.
• Provide timely feedback and academic advising on course progress.
• Maintain office hours for student consultation.
• Incorporate instructional technology and digital resources into delivery.
• Participate in departmental meetings and assessment initiatives.
• Support Lane College's mission and commitment to student success.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with policies.
