Job summary

Rush Oak Park Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.

Role requires flexibility to cover Ill calls, FMLA, vacancies and census fluctuations. Requirements include an Associate Degree in Nursing (enrolled to complete within 5 years), Illinois RN license, 2+ years nursing experience, CPR and ACLS, and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing; must enroll in degree completion within 5 years.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required or preferred.
• Illinois RN license active and current.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Current CPR and ACLS for ED/ICU/Tele/PACU areas.
• Good communication, computer, and time-management skills.
• Familiar with patient care equipment and bedside procedures.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays and varied shifts.
• Able to be down-staffed in 4-hour increments.
• Able to transport patients and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and requests.
• Explain procedures and tests to patients during admission and stay.
• Document all required forms in medical records.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities.
• Apply evidence-based clinical standards in daily care.
• Maintain unit competencies and validate MD orders.
• Coordinate the plan of care and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with RN team to ensure safe, effective care.
