Job summary

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian for a part-time, hybrid role with 50% remote work. The position supports an inpatient behavioral health hospital across two campuses in the area, with 1-2 onsite visits weekly.

The ideal candidate will hold an RD/RDN credential, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Dietetics, and must be eligible for or hold Washington State CD. Excellent communication and collaboration with the care team are essential.

Qualifications

• RD/RDN certification and licensure as required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics or related field.
• Washington State CD eligibility or current certification is required before start.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk.
• Develop and monitor individualized nutrition care plans for behavioral health patients.
• Address nutrition concerns in behavioral health, including medication-related weight changes and metabolic risk.
• Provide nutrition education to patients individually and in groups to support recovery and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and the interdisciplin ary team to optimize outcomes.
• Review diet orders and ensure meals meet patient needs and regulatory standards.

Flexibility

Choose your days and hours. 1-2 onsite visits per week. The rest of the hours can be completed remotely.

Compensation

$40.00-$45.00 per hour, based on experience

Travel Compensation

Paid travel time to and from the facility at hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients identified at nutritional risk, adhering to facility policies and procedures
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans for patients with psychiatric and co-occurring medical conditions
• Address nutrition concerns common in behavioral health, including medication-related weight changes, metabolic risk, disordered eating, and substance use recovery
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, individually and in groups, to support recovery and discharge planning
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team to optimize patient outcomes
• Review therapeutic diet orders and collaborate with food service to ensure meals meet patient needs and regulatory standards
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards (e.g., TJC, CMS)
• Maintain thorough and timely electronic medical record documentation
• Serve as a nutrition expert and resource for hospital staff, contributing to staff education
• Perform other tasks as assigned and within scope of practice as needed

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN)
• Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD), or eligible to obtain before start
• Behavioral health, psychiatric, or eating disorder experience preferred
• Clinical experience in a hospital or inpatient setting preferred
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time across two campuses, and prioritize effectively
• Reliable transportation for travel between the Kirkland and Everett campuses
