Job summary

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian for a part-time, hybrid role (50% remote) at our inpatient behavioral health hospital campuses in Bellevue, WA. The position features flexible scheduling with 12-24 hours per week and travel time compensation.

You will assess nutrition needs, develop evidence-based care plans, educate patients, and collaborate with psychiatrists and nursing staff to support recovery while meeting regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited program.
• RD/RDN credential required.
• Washington CD eligible before start.
• Behavioral health or inpatient experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Address nutrition concerns in behavioral health, including medication-related factors.
• Provide nutrition education to patients and groups to support recovery.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists and other team members.
• Review diet orders and ensure meals meet patient needs and regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards (e.g., TJC, CMS).
• Maintain timely electronic medical record documentation.
• Serve as a nutrition expert and resource for hospital staff.

Clinical Registered Dietitian Position - Part-time/Hybrid (50% Remote)

Overview: This exciting opportunity for a Registered Dietitian offers a flexible and rewarding work-life balance with a blend of in-person and remote work options, supporting an inpatient behavioral health hospital across two campuses in the area.

Facility Type: Behavioral Health

Schedule: 12-24 hours per week (50% remote)

Flexibility: Choose your days and hours. 1-2 onsite visits per week. The rest of the hours can be completed remotely.

Compensation:$40.00-$45.00 per hour, based on experience

Travel Compensation: Paid travel time to and from the facility at hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients identified at nutritional risk, adhering to facility policies and procedures
  
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans for patients with psychiatric and co-occurring medical conditions
  
• Address nutrition concerns common in behavioral health, including medication-related weight changes, metabolic risk, disordered eating, and substance use recovery
  
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, individually and in groups, to support recovery and discharge planning
  
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team to optimize patient outcomes
  
• Review therapeutic diet orders and collaborate with food service to ensure meals meet patient needs and regulatory standards
  
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards (e.g., TJC, CMS)
  
• Maintain thorough and timely electronic medical record documentation
  
• Serve as a nutrition expert and resource for hospital staff, contributing to staff education
  
• Perform other tasks as assigned and within scope of practice as needed
  

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program
  
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN)
  
• Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD), or eligible to obtain before start
  
• Behavioral health, psychiatric, or eating disorder experience preferred
  
• Clinical experience in a hospital or inpatient setting preferred
  
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients and interdisciplinary teams
  
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time across two campuses, and prioritize effectively
  
• Reliable transportation for travel between the Kirkland and Everett campuses
