Job summary

HHS is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to join the Harbour View Medical Center team in Suffolk, VA. You will guide patients, families, and facility staff on medical nutrition therapy to support healthy, healing environments and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include performing nutritional assessments, educating staff and families, documenting patient plans, and coordinating with physicians to optimize nutritional care in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration and state licensure as required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or related field.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and nutrition care protocols.
• Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software.

Responsibilities

• Complete nutritional assessments and provide interventions using evidence‑based practices for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Provide education to patients, families, nursing, food service, and other facility staff on nutritional needs.
• Document assessments and nutritional goals in the medical record.
• Communicate with physicians and clinical staff on patients’ nutritional status.
• Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements.
• Attend patient rounds and support compliance with clinical nutrition policies.

Job Description

We’re looking for a friendly, compassionate leader to join our culinary team!

Guide patients, families, and facility staff on all aspects of medical nutrition therapy to create a healthy and healing environment. Build relationships with physicians and nurses to support patient satisfaction and achieve quality care that meets each patient’s nutritional needs.

Responsibilities

Part-Time Registered Dietitian at Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center in Suffolk, VA

Starting rate $35/hr (Negotiable based on experience)

Minimum of 16 hrs/wk (Growth potential to 24 hours)

• Complete nutritional assessments and provide interventions using evidence-based practices for both inpatient and outpatient care
• Provide education to patients, families, nursing, food service, and other facility staff on nutritional needs
• Document assessment of patients with nutritional goals and interventions in the medical record
• Communicate with physicians and clinical staff on patients’ nutritional status
• Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements
• Attend patient rounds and maintain clinical nutrition policies to support regulatory compliance

Requirements
