Job summary

Cura Hospice/Healthcare is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian in Farmington, MO, to assess nutritional needs of elderly residents and implement interventions to improve quality of life. This hybrid role schedules 17 hours at Farmington Presbyterian Manor and 8 hours every other week at Rolla Presbyterian Manor.

Responsibilities include nutrition assessments, care plan updates, MDS completion, and contributing to interdisciplinary care conferences. Sign-on bonus available and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Must hold a nutrition degree and relevant licensure/certification.
• Continued education: 75 hours every five years per CDR.
• Knowledge of assessment, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach nutrition and dietetics to staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition assessments for admissions, quarterly and annual reviews.
• Create and update care plans with nurses and CNAs for meals and snacks.
• Complete MDS for Section K and CAAs as required.
• Use nutrition-focused exams to identify malnutrition per ASPEN criteria.
• Lead care conferences with families and participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings.
• Support QAPI and conduct kitchen inspections and meal audits.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experiencedPart-Time Registered Dietitian that is interested in working with the elderly to our Cura Hospitality team inFarmington, MO. As a Registered Dietitian with Cura Hospitality, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.This is a hybrid position. *This position will be scheduled 17 hours per week at Farmington Presbyterian Manor, while also covering 8 hours every other week at Rolla Presbyterian Manor.*

What you'll be doing:

• Provide Nutrition Assessments for admissions, quarterly assessments, annual assessments, tube feedings, weight changes +/-4% in 1 month, wounds, and for significant change assessments (such as a hospice admission or a significant improvement in ADLs)
• Nutrition education as needed and requested by residents
• Creation and quarterly updates on care plans for nurses/CNAs/CMAs to reference at meals and snacks to tailor to resident food preferences
• Completion of MDS (Minimum Data Sheets) for Section K and CAAs
• Use of the nutrition-focused physical exam to identify residents who meet criteria for malnutrition according to ASPEN Malnutrition Criteria
• Care conference meetings with families to update them on changes with the resident
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary team to provide resident-centered care during weekly clinical meetings
• QAPI Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Meetings each quarter
• Monthly Kitchen Inspections and Meal Service Audits

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.

Compensation Range:

• $45.00 - $55.00 per hour, depending on experience.
