Job summary

IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) seeks a part-time Development Coordinator in Long Island, NY to build donor, masjid, business, and community relationships advancing IDEA’s mission.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will manage a portfolio, support regional events, and represent IDEA at community engagements while traveling up to 60% in the designated area, with commitment to our values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience with grassroots/community engagement.
• Familiarity with local Muslim communities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking.
• Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace; Salesforce familiarity preferred.
• Available evenings and weekends for events.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive donor and community relationships.
• Strengthen masajid and community partnerships.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at events.
• Plan and support regional fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Respond to donor inquiries with timely information.
• Deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Prepare plans, projections, and reports for management.
• Research local communities to support fundraising strategies.
• Pursue ongoing training and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
